Dr. Harnish received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Michigan State University. Prior to joining Penn State University in 2003, he spent 13 years working in private industry, most recently as director of market research for Blattner Brunner, a comprehensive marketing services firm with offices in Atlanta, Washington DC, and Pittsburgh. Dr. Harnish has an active record of publications with a focus on three research interests -- the functional theories of attitudes, interdependence theory and person perception. Of late, his research has focused on understanding how stakeholders solve problems facing the community by using exit-voice behaviors.
